Aims and Topics of the Workshop

The workshop aims at providing a forum for researchers in the field of computational elastodynamics and seismology. Novel issues and developments in computing capabilities and understanding of numerical strategies will be presented and discussed.

The workshop is organized in two sections: the former is devoted to numerical techniques in elastodynamics, with emphasis on basic concepts and methods; the latter deals with applications to seismology, with reference to earthquake induced strong ground motion.

Topics include: engineering analysis and algorithms; earthquake mechanics; ground motion simulations. Key mathematical and engineering issues will be discussed.
